What this site is
MexicoStarter is an independent, start-here travel guide for visitors to Mexico, written with first-time, cultural, and rail/bus-focused travellers in mind. We publish destination guides, practical how-tos, sample itineraries, a 2,483-municipality and Pueblo Mágico directory, and 15 free interactive planning tools in Mexican Pesos ($ MXN). The site is free to use and is supported by display advertising.
How we research
- We base practical information on primary Mexican sources — SECTUR (Secretaría de Turismo / VisitMexico), INAH (Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia), INM (Instituto Nacional de Migración), Tren Maya, SEMOVI CDMX (Movilidad Integrada), ADO Mobility, CONANP (Comisión Nacional de Áreas Naturales Protegidas), and the INEGI / GeoNames registry — and link directly to official portals so you can verify details yourself.
